Summer Break in Youth Services

Dear Friends,

Kristi Favaloro, children’s librarian, here today! I have the privilege of writing to you all because I will actually be away for a bit. My husband, Mike, has been working out of state for the past several months. This means that as soon as Grace (my daughter and Skidompha’s junior librarian) gets out of school, we have an epic road trip planned to go spend some time with him.

While I’m away, I have enlisted the help of some familiar faces. A big thank you to Heidi, Barbara, Tyla, and Chloe, who have graciously agreed to fill in at the children’s circulation desk. Hannah will be hosting story time after a short pause (more on that below). Please stop in and say hi to them!

This is the perfect segue to remind you all about our Summer Reading Program; this year’s theme is Adventure Begins at Your Library. We have lots of fun planned for children, teens, and adults. If you haven’t already picked up your bingo sheet, we hope you will stop by and visit us soon! There are free art programs, guided hikes, book clubs, game nights, and so much more. We have even teamed up with the Lincoln Theater to offer a series of free movies throughout the summer months.

Grace and I are looking forward to our summer adventures, but we will miss you all. We will return the week of July 22, which should give us plenty of time to soak up all that makes summer in Maine special, too.

Here’s to summer!

Kristi
