Welcome to Skidompha Public Library!

Skidompha Library is located in the center of Damariscotta, and serves the communities of Damariscotta, Newcastle, and Nobleboro. We hope to see you soon!

In 2025, Skidompha Public Library will celebrate our 120th anniversary! In 1905, the Skidompha Library Association was incorporated and its collection of 1476 books was given to Damariscotta, Newcastle, and Nobleboro as the start of a Free Public Library, and we have been honored to be a part of this community ever since. This program is free, but donations are always welcome! We encourage gifts to our little free pantry of closed foods and hygiene products. Or, make a donation to the library to help keep the lights on, the amenities stocked, and the programs swinging. We thank you for any help you can offer.⁠
