Finding your ancestor’s name or photo in a newspaper can be a thrill, offering a deep sense of connection. News articles can also provide a wealth of new information by naming relatives, towns of residence or birth, years of immigration, and the stories that flesh out the material found in other documents. Today’s talk will also include an update on our Lincoln County newspaper digitizing project and a presentation on how the site will look and function, using the Fort Fairfield ME site as a finished example of what Skidompha’s digital newspaper site will be like later in 2019.
For more information about the newspaper digital archive project (or this talk) please contact Skidompha’s Staff Genealogist, Kathleen Maclachlan.
