Genealogy: Scanning Best Practices

This short demonstration and talk will cover scanning basics. Handling and displaying original items causes wear and degradation. Good digital copies allow unlimited sharing while preserving the original items. We’re successful when the scan and documentation that goes with it are accessible beyond the life of the people who initially create the electronic record. Goal: Encourage and introduce participants to best practices for saving materials electronically in a way that will be readily accessible far into the future.
