Genealogy Help

Skidompha Library invites all those interested in local history, family history, and genealogy to explore The Skidompha History And Genealogy Center, located on the second floor of the library. While the collection focuses on Lincoln County, Maine, we also have material from other areas of Maine, New England, the US, Canada, and other countries.

We have genealogy volunteers available to help with research and genealogy software, cemeteries, Maine Civil War records, the Skidompha Genealogy collection, Ancestry, state, and federal archives, transcriptions, the Maine collection, family stories, deeds and probate research, and scanning, editing, and organizing photographs.

Our volunteers are available on most Thursday afternoons from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. It’s always a good idea to call ahead! 207-887-0919.
