Earle will be sharing a presentation highlighting two aspects of the state’s recent Bicentennial celebration. “Faces of Statehood” illustrates early photographs of men and women who helped shape the development of Maine during its first fifty years of statehood from 1820 through the Civil War. “Maine’s Centennial” documents how the state observed the anniversary of its first one hundred years in 1920 with parades, songs, and a commemorative half dollar.
