Historian Allan Winkler, who wrote a biography of folk music legend Pete Seeger (“To Everything There Is a Season”: Pete Seeger and the Power of Song) will talk about Pete’s life, and in the course of the talk, will sing and play parts of many of his best known songs. Seeger was a labor activist, a civil rights reformer, a Vietnam War critic, and an environmental proponent, and wrote such wonderful songs as “If I Had a Hammer,” and “Where Have All the Flowers Gone.” Winkler played music on any number of occasions with Pete, and will talk about that powerful experience.
