2024.10.17 Our Fall Appeal

Hello, friends!

Chloe here, filling in for Matthew this week!

Now that we’ve caught our breath after a very busy summer and whirlwind Pumpkinfest weekend, it’s a great time to stress once again how grateful we are for the amazing public support we receive at Skidompha. Thank you to everyone in our community who supports Skidompha in ways large and small. We are fortunate to have so many wonderful partners who make our work at the Library both meaningful and successful.

As just one example of your positive impact on Skidompha, I’m excited to share that 1,475 participants enjoyed our Summer Reading programs this year. Support like yours was integral in allowing us to reach so many people. That number alone, though, doesn’t fully illustrate the real scope of your generosity. While it’s an impressive figure, it represents so many amazing interactions, opportunities taken to learn and grow, and a real sense of togetherness shared by patrons of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Those relationships and memories- hard to quantify but so vital to our community- are authored in part by you. Again, thank you for all you do to help Skidompha facilitate programs like these! I hope you feel as proud as we do to help share in this project.

I’m also excited to note that next year will be Skidompha’s 120th anniversary, or centivintennial (if that word is new to you, you’re in good company!)! We have several events in the works to help celebrate this milestone, as well as several goals we’ll need your help with as we consider the Library’s past and future. We’re looking forward to sharing more about both in the new year, and in the meantime, I hope you’ll be inspired to give to our Fall Appeal. This annual fund is a vital part of our budget, and with your help, Skidompha will continue to provide great services, develop programs, and keep our collections strong.

Again and as always, thank you for all of your generosity and support, and we look forward to seeing you at the Library!
